Did You Know There Is A Gender Exercise Gap?
At ASICS, we believe everyone should be able to experience the positive physical and mental benefits of exercise.
We are on a mission to Move Every Mind and we need your support.
Last year, the ASICS State of Mind Index uncovered a gender exercise gap with women, especially young women, exercising significantly less than men.
As a first step to move every mind, ASICS is launching a global study to understand the motivators, barriers and facilitators of women's exercise levels and sports participation and understand any differences between generations and geographies.
Who is running the study?
The study is being led by Dr. Dee Dlugonski, Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky, and supported by ProfesĀsor Brendon Stubbs - two leading researchers in movement and the mind. The study involves quantitative research with thousands of people across the globe, as well as in-depth focus groups.
What's next?
The insights and data from the study will support ASICS, alongside our partners and community programs, to make meaningful commitments and develop practical global solutions to help tackle the gender exercise gap.
How can I help?
Take the survey (it takes less than five minutes), share the survey, sign up to host or participate in a focus group and ultimately, please help us spread the word.
We will be sharing our commitments the near future, along with the results of the research, to help encourage and support more women to participate in and enjoy exercise and sport. And ultimately, experience the benefits of a sound mind in a sound body.
